Alias SKUs are a way to link different product SKUs that represent the same physical item in your inventory. For example, you might sell the same red t-shirt using different SKU names across Amazon, Walmart, and eBay. In Cahoot, you'll create one Primary SKU for the t-shirt, then connect all other SKUs as Aliases. This ensures accurate inventory tracking and streamlined order fulfillment, regardless of which sales channel the order comes from.
Adding Alias SKUs
1. Go to Products > All Products and use the various filters to find the SKU you want to add Alias SKUs for, and click Edit in the Action column.
Go to the Alias SKUs tab and add the Alias SKU Name(s). You can also add the ASIN and Item Name.
- SKU (required)
- ASIN (if the item is listed in Amazon Seller Central)
- Item Name (if it's different from the primary SKU's item name)
3. Use Bulk Copy to add Alias SKUs in bulk, making sure each line is comma separated (up to 25 SKUs can be added at a time).
Resolving Issues with Alias SKUs Configuration
When orders arrive before Alias SKUs are properly configured, Cahoot automatically creates them as new Primary SKUs. This leads to orders being marked as "No Match Found" instead of being routed to Match Confirmed for Cahoot fulfillment.
Key Point: Once a SKU exists as a Primary SKU in the system, it cannot be directly converted to an Alias SKU. The workaround below allows you to "free up" the SKU name so it can be properly configured as an alias.
